On July 30, 2004, Brown & Williamson and R. J. Reynolds Tobacco merged, at that time R. J. Reynolds Tobacco was going through hard times. The joint venture is called R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. The company continues to produce Pall Mall cigarettes without a filter and Pall Mall cigarettes with a filter.
In addition to the size, the manufacturers of Pall Mall cigarettes tirelessly experimented with the technology of cigarette production. As a result of these experiments, they managed to significantly change the taste of the brand. The new technology of stuffing tobacco made it possible to make the smoking process easier, saved smokers from tickling in the throat. Pall Mall cigarettes began to differ in a very delicate mild taste, which allows us to distinguish this brand from others today.
The only thing that has not changed since the founding of the brand is the logo of cigarettes. The famous logo of Pall Mall cigarettes, its memorable design in the style of art nouveau – all this has become an integral part of the design of cigarette packaging. The tutu depicts a coat of arms with two royal lions resting on a shield with the motto “Per aspera ad Astra” (Through thorns to the stars). The same motto can be seen on the kansas state press. Just below the shield is a banner with another Latin motto – “In hoc signo vinces” (Under this banner you will win). Another famous slogan of Pall Mall cigarettes, which appears on the packaging, is “Wherever Particular People Congregate”.
To emphasize their modernity, the manufacturers of Pall Mall cigarettes began to actively experiment with the color of packs, and bright and saturated samples of purple, orange, blue and green colors appeared on the market. As for the taste variety and difference in form, thin and standard cigarettes with different flavors, including menthol, are produced. In 2008, Pall Mall cigarettes once again changed their appearance: the colors of the pack changed to bright blue, orange and red. Now the main line of Pall Mall cigarettes includes three versions: Pall Mall RED with a content of 10 mg of tar and 0.8 mg of nicotine; Pall Mall BLUE with 7 mg of tar and 0.6 mg of nicotine; Pall Mall AMBER with 4 mg tar and 0.4 mg nicotine.
